Test Discussion

Just to see who is with us... what does everyone think of the new signs around Hofstra?

Personally I think they are very cartoonish, but better signage was necessary considering plants cover a majority of the building titles carved into the walls. Signs would have certainly helped me with reference points as an incoming freshman when looking at my map. They make the campus more accessible for outsiders, but they could have been designed in a more classical fashion.

I personally don't like the signs. I agree that signs should be put up, but the ones that have been put up so far just don't work. For one thing they do look cartoonish. For another they don't blend in with the campus at all, they stick out like a sore thumb. If we get signs they should blend in more with the campus...even wooden sings would be better.

I am wondering who made this decision to make them? and also, why do they feel it necessary to spend the money on this rather than the evident flooding problem we have on campus I went for mass on Sunday and sat through it smelling a moldy stench the entire time with an obvious water stain discoloring the floor. Why aren't things like this taking top priority?

I think I'm the only one on campus who actually likes the new signs. I'm a fan of how they match the new logo and overall new design of everything our school is putting out.

I'm a senior now but I remember being a freshman and not being able to read the engraved lettering on many of the buildings. (Theodore what Hall?)

I agree the signs are nice...but they don't match the campus at all. And yeah it does kind of suck not being able to find anything on the first day of school..but thats almost part of the freshmen experience

All I'm saying is get signs that match the campus. That's all.

I have mixed feelings about the signs. I don't think they quite fit in, but the new campus maps are better than the old ones and certainly clearer than the ones on the back of the planners.
